Stitching review

Like most of my fellow stitching bloggers I feel the need to post my accomplishments and goals out there in the ether. Partly as a pat on the back formyself for what I have done, but mostly to keep me honest about what I still have to work on!
Without further ado..

THE BIG 2005 FINISH LIST
1. Pigs Might Fly got finished, framed and given to the office at T's Christmas party.
2. I started and finished a Precious Moments design for the AQP.
3. I started and finished a cow design for the AQP.
4. I have half of the duck finished to join the cow eventually.
( Okay so it's not so big, darn! )

2006 ( WELL, ONLY JAN. AND PART OF FEB. )

Winter Queen

Spring Queen

The rotation is on a weekly basis. For instance, I will put WQ in the Q-snaps on Sunday, then swap her for Angel of the Sea on the 8th.

Ex-Rotatio

- Finish sewing that damn pillow.
- Finish 2002 in my scrapbook. Decide if I need a new album to take to Stillwood at the end of Feb. Probably a yes.

The Great SkyTrain adventure.

The littlest things amuse the kids. T and I are pretty familiar with Vancouver's Rapid Transit System. K & K have missed out on stuff like that since they were born here. So today we drove to Surrey and parked at the King George station. There is a Day's Inn right there that shares an Impark lot ( $3.75 all day ) with the station. We went all the way down to Waterfront and then took the Seabus across the inlet to Lonsdale Quay. An hour was spent mooching around in the market. The kids were impressed with the cool toy store on the 2nd floor. I liked the Celtic store, but we didn't buy anything. I wanted to get a t-shirt that said "I'm the Irishwoman your mother warned you about!" We had some lunch and then came back across the inlet to downtown. A leg-stretching walk around Canada Place was curtailed to wind and Weezie complaining about her throat starting to hurt. Back down to Waterfront Station we went and got back on SkyTrain.

The trial run for SkyTrain to Bryan Adams in 3 weeks was a success. Now that they know all about the train we won't get 25,000 questions any more.

Phew! That was tiring.

Today is recovery and clean-up day. We got back last night after several days at my father-in-law's. Christmas Eve and Boxing Day were spent at my folks' in Ladner. The kids were so cute together. TJ loved the truck and dune buggy that my 2 gave him. Thanks Mom and Dad for the yummy roast!

Christmas dinner was at Dad Mueller's. Almost the whole clan was there, with the usual hilarity. It's too bad my in-laws are all so staid and boring. We never have any fun...
The highlight I think was Auntie Elke and nephew Nick dancing on the coffee table.

K and K are busy playing with their new stuff. Kaiser loves his crane. Weezie is thrilled with her Shiver bear. I think later on we will try out their new "Life" game.

Czechs 6 Swiss 3

This year the World Junior Hockey Tournament is in Vancouver. It starts on Boxing Day. Chilliwack is hosting the Czech Republic team, and Team Switzerland is staying just across the river in Mission. So it was suitable to get the 2 teams together for an Exhibition game at Prospera Centre last night.
The 4 of us went and we had great seats - 2 rows behind the Swiss bench. The coaches were determined to stand on the bench and block our view sometimes though. The players look incredibly young when you see them that close. And a team orthodontist wouldn't be a back idea.
At the junior level there is some pretty good hockey being played. We are looking forward to Monday. Oh, and Team Canada beat the Russians 6-1 in Kamloops!
On a sour note though, the Czech team had some things stolen from their hotel room on Tuesday night. I was appalled when I heard that! Some players have played around North America before ( the Czech goalie apparantly once played for the Vancouver Giants of the WHL ) but for some of them it was certainly not a nice welcome to Canada.
In a nice co-incidence we saw my aunt and uncle and 2 of my cousins at the game last night. They have season tickets for the Bruins next year so maybe we can go to games together.

I got the web page up and running again. Thanks goodness for WS FTP! Thanks to all the BB members for the tips!

The picture is kind of large, so check out the cow link instead. Scroll down to the table at the bottom of finished stuff.

Which of Santa's Reindeer are you?

You Are Blitzen
Always in good spirits, you're the reindeer who loves to party down with Santa.
Why You're Naughty: You're always blitzed on Christmas Eve, while flying!
Why You're Nice: You mix up a mean eggnog martini.
Which of Santa's Reindeer Are You?

Wow! Big surprise with that one! (snarf)

Christmas decorations

Well we have some up finally! DH did the lights last week. Today he put up the bubble lights on the mantle and the lights going down the stairwell. I want to get some of that fake snow ( the cottony stuff ) to put on my little table at the top of the stairs. It's a good place for my Father Christmas to go I think.
