So we are going to have an election...

I know exactly who is to blame for the timing of this. So I do not care who our Liberal candidate is, that is where my vote is going. Not that I trust them too much, but then I don't really trust any politicians. The fact that Harper is in bed with the Bloc just makes me gag. Obviously he really cares about Canada by forming that little alliance. Don't even count the NDP, Layton just makes up the third of that mistake.

How does that saying go? "Better the devil you know..." Part of me hopes that the Tories ( wolves in Reform clothing ) get a minority government. I will laugh hysterically while I watch Layton scurry back to the Liberals.

Hobbies goals, a bit early.

Okay so November isn't really over yet, but Christmas songs started playing on the radio this morning so it may as well be.
November - I finished my rotation. Finally! Angel of the Sea is now up to just over 141 hours. Alas I have no photos. I've been fighting with Dreamweaver for a week now. I uploaded the last photo of her just fine. A week later, I try Stroke of Midnight and I get anFTP error saying the file may not be there ( wrong, it's sitting there, large as life, in my folder ) or it may be a permission error. I don't have time to fight with Telus right now about our web space though.
December - Hobbies will be limited until Christmas stuff gets accomplished. This week will be serious work on writing up cards. I have overseas ones to get away for sure. If I have time after Christmas I might work on my little cross stitch farm animals for the AQP. The fall of 2002 awaits work in my scrapbook.

What kind of Princess are you?

HASH(0x8c1b2bc)
The Noble Princess
You are just and fair, a perfectionist with a
strong sense of proper decorum. You are very
attracted to chivalry, ceremony and dignity.
For the most part you are rather sensible, but
you are also very idealistic.
Role Models: Guinevere, Princess Fiona (of Shrek)
You are most likely to: Get kidnapped by a stray
dragon.

What Kind of Princess are You? - Beautiful Artwork (Original Music is BACK!!!)

"Krakatoa"

I finished reading Simon Winchester's book yesterday. I also read his book about the earthquake in San Fransisco in 1906. I must be a frustrated seismologist/volcanologist or something because stuff like that fascinates me. But I am also intrigued by disasters in general, especially ones that seem to define an era.

In the book, Winchester quotes Will Durant ( US Historian, 1885 to 1981 ) who said, "Civilization exists with geological consent, subject to change without notice." I have to agree with that. Many years go by without any large untoward geologic happenings and then a bunch of stuff seems to happen at once. Like in 1906 for instance. The earthquake in San Fransisco was the 5th or 6th large geologic episode ( Mt. Etna erupted, and so did some big volcano in Ecuador or something that I forget the name of ) that year and it was only April! Our planet sometimes feels like pretending to be a cow and we are just the flies.

Good article, stupid photo

Katie Robinson wrote a lovely article about the Angel Quilt Project in Friday's Chilliwack Progress. Jenna did a good job with the photo. I just look kind of gormless and I wish they hadn't used it. The quilts are more important than me anyway. I hope this exposure will get us a few more members.
Thank you to my friends and family members too. You are good sports to be roped into quilting and stitching for us!

Odds and ends

Holy crap, I haven't posted in a whole week! Without further ado, here is what we were up to:

-Busy at school last week. Helped out with hot lunch on Wed. and then baby-sat G-man for Bertha on Thurs. so she could do the same. Bunch of other PAC stuff had to get cleared up too. Looked after TJ on Friday.

-Spa night at Bav's on Friday. Thanks for a swell time dahling!

-Weekend was spent hanging out with the kids. Hubby almost got the tile around the fireplace finished. They just need a final glueing. He also put white grout between the tiles in our shower. 6 months after the tiles went in....
Played "Chicken Foot" with the set of Double Fifteen dominoes. Kaiser was starting to get it pretty good.

-Finished up another 5 hours on Angel of the Sea, to bring her to 136 hours. No picture this time, maybe after another 10 hours or so.
