Our favorite casserole

Thanks to Shannon for inspiring me to post this recipe. Sorry, but unlike Shannon I don't have a picture. You will have to use your imagination!

This isn't a recipe so much as a method, but here goes:
I use my Mikasa large oval French White casserole dish, which is 2.8 litres.
Main ingredients - 2 cans of cream of something soup. I usually use mushroom.
- 2 boxes of mac and cheese
- approx. a lb of ground beef or turkey.
- a good sized squirt ( 3 tbsp? ) of ketchup or barbeque sauce.
- half a cup of milk

What you do-
Get the noodles boiling and the meat browning. Dump the soup, the milk, the cheese powder stuff and the ketchup in the largest mixing bowl you have. Add spices of choice and a bunch of grated cheese, whatever kind you like. If you are not having salad with this ( we are tonight ) then add whatever veggies you have hanging around. Cook partway first. Peas are good with this. Mix this up until it looks like sauce. Add the meat once it is browned and drained. Drain cooked noodles and add them too. Mix it up well and put in casserole dish. Cover.
Cooking - At 350 it will take at least 30-40 minutes to get bubbly. Once it is, take it out and add topping. I prefer crushed up taco chips mixed with grated cheese. Leave the lid off and stick it back in the oven for 10 or so minutes until the cheese is all melty.

Comments:
