My fisherman
So hubby caught a 13 lb chum salmon yesterday in the Vedder River. He's going to try his luck again today after work. Last night he filleted the fish and put 4 bags in the freezer. Not bad for a few dinners.
I know some people sneer up their noses at chum but it's actually pretty good marinated and grilled. It also holds together nicely for chowder or fish pie. We have a chunk of last year's fish that will definitely become chowder very soon.
He said there were some guys catching a few springs ( otherwise know as Chinook ) yesterday but he didn't say if they were red ones or white ones. Last year we had some of each. Pinks are good too but you can only catch them in odd numbered years.
