2010 Olypics questions

I got the following from a friend via email. I do not for a moment believe everything I get, but I have been asked enough idiotic questions about Canada that I am inclined to think that the web site is legit and so are the morons asking the questions. And I fervently hope that the answers given were actually used on the web site. If I was running I would have anwsered in a similar manner, just not as cleverly.

2010 OLYMPICS questions from all around the world about CANADA. This is a good read. I dare you not to smile ! Now that Vancouver has won the chance to host the 2010 Winter Olympics, these are some questions people the world over are asking!!!! Believe it or not these questions about Canada were posted on an International Tourism Website. Obviously the answers are a joke; but the questions were really asked!!

Q:I have never seen it warm on Canadian TV, so how do the plants grow?(England)
A.We import all plants fully grown and then just sit around and watch them die.

Q:Will I be able to see Polar Bears in the street?(USA)
A:Depends on how much you've been drinking.

Q:I want to walk from Vancouver to Toronto -can I follow the Railroad tracks?(Sweden)
A:Sure, it's only Four thousand miles, take lots of water.

Q:Is it safe to run around in the bushes in Canada ?(Sweden)
A:So it's true what they say about Swedes.

Q:It is imperative that I find the names and addresses of places to contact for a stuffed Beaver.(Italy)
A:Let's not touch this one.

Q:Are there any ATM's (cash machines) in Canada ? Can you send me a list of them in Toronto , Vancouver , Edmonton and Halifax ? (England)
A: What did your last slave die of?

Q: Can you give me some information about hippo racing in Canada ? (USA)
A: A-fri-ca is the big triangle shaped continent south of Europe. Ca-na-da is that big country to your North...oh forget it. Sure, the hippo racing is every Tuesday night in Calgary. Come naked.

Q: Which direction is North in Canada ? (USA)
A: Face south and then turn 180 degrees Contact us when you get here and we'll send the rest of the directions.

Q:Can I bring cutlery into Canada ? (England)
A:Why? Just use your fingers like we do.

Q:Can you send me the Vienna Boys' Choir schedule? (USA)
A:Aus-tri-a is that quaint little country bordering Ger-man-y, ich is...oh forget it. Sure, the Vienna Boys Choir plays every Tuesday night in Vancouver and in Calgary , straight after the hippo races. Come naked.

Q:Do you have perfume in Canada ? (Germany)
A:No, WE don't stink.

Q:I have developed a new product that is the fountain of youth. Can you sell it in Canada ? (USA)

population is smaller than the male population? (Italy)
A:Yes, gay nightclubs

Q:Do you celebrate Thanksgiving in Canada ? (USA)
A:Only at Thanksgiving.

Q:Are there supermarkets in Toronto and is milk available all year
round? (Germany)
A:No, we are a peaceful civilization of Vegan hunter/gathers. Milk is illegal.

Q:I have a question about a famous animal in Canada , but I forget its name. It's a kind of big horse with horns. (USA)
A:It's called a Moose. They are tall and very violent. They roam the city streets eating the brains of anyone walking close to them.Spraying yourself with human urine before you go out walking will scare them off.

Q:Will I be able to speak English most places I go? (USA)
A:Yes, but you will have to learn it first.

A little bit of sun...

...brings out the whole neighbourhood. All of last week was wet and yucky. Today is sunny and everyone was outside this afternoon. The kids and Daddy played street hockey. I decided to skip my pilates video and grabbed my bike instead. The park was packed with kids, dogs and skaters. People gardened, washed cars and cut grass. Even the JWs were out. I guess God only wants them to annoy you when it's nice out.

The Sedin twins

The secret to telling them apart is their teeth, according to team-mate Willie Mitchell. Check out the Canucks Insider. This particular article is pretty funny.

Another year older.

Today is my 38th birthday. I'm not sure that I feel 38, at least not all time. Some days I feel 58! Most of the time I think I am not much different than 20 years ago when I was in Grade 12.
The passage of time and life experiences have matured me. Almost 12 years of marriage and 2 kids will take care of that too. I would like to think that I have not entirely grown-up though. Because that sounds like not much fun to me. I hope to be 80 and not quite grown up.
There are a large number of people who I have known and loved who have March birthdays, so here is my tribute to you all!

March 1 - G the goalie. Andie's hubby.
March 2- My cousin's daughter.
March 7- Andie
March 13 - My cousin L.
March 15 - my grandma would have been 92.
March 18 - Hubby's business partner's wife and our good friend for 18 years.
March 21 - My friend L.
March 22 - My baby sister.
March 25 - My uncle L. in Calgary.
March 28 - My friend L. who I have known since Guides.

And to anyone else that I know who has a birthday in March that I have forgotten about! Sorry but the memory isn't what it used to be...

Spank the Bolts

Canucks -5
Tampa - 1

Just finished watching the game. Yahoo for the red-hot Jeff Cowan, 2 goals tonight, his 5th in 3 games. Tampa came in cocky and got too fancy. Too many passes, only 17 shots on goal. So much for Lacavalier and St. Louis.

The Canucks leave tomorrow for Phoenix on Thurs. and San Jose on Friday. Likely Vigneault will play Sabourin for the next game and Luongo will play Friday. Wouldn't be surprised.

So Evey...will the Canucks have softened up the Bolts for Edmonton tomorrow night, or just pissed them off?

Too many movies?

I pinched this from Glenda the Weather Goddess. Try and see if you have a life or not.

It’s been said that allegedly if you’ve seen over 85 movies you have no life. Mark the ones you’ve seen. There are 239 films on this list. Copy this list, go to your own blog, paste it in and put x’s by the ones that you have seen. Add them up, change the header adding your number, and post it.

Time flies

Man how did 2 weeks go by? We got busy with skating carnival stuff after Kaiser's birthday and it just kind of went from there. So here are my last couple of weeks in a nutshell:

-Resident tech support ( otherwise known as Honey ) has been tranferring stuff over to our new computer that has been loaded with Vista. So far so good but only half the stuff has been moved. Stay tuned for photos of stitching once the transfer is complete.

-I am in the process of getting new glasses after about 10 years. My left eye has gotten a bit worse and my right eye is a bit better. Go figure.

-We got a new hot water tank on Wed. Tuesday night while doing dishing we discovered the lack of hot water. The new one is more energy efficient and should save us a few bucks on our gas bill

-Tonight we are getting a baby-sitter and going to the Bruins game against Vancouver. They are trying to squeek into the play-offs, but likely won't have much luck with the Giants, who are pretty good. Andie and her hubby got tickets for tonight too.

That's it! Hopefully it won't be another 2 weeks before I post again.
